The design of the piano is great for students and professionals as the music rest extends a full 40 inches above the keys, giving lots of room for books, extended pieces, or ballads with 8+ pages. The keys themselves are also longer and feel as if you are playing a grand piano with precision balance and attack when played. Often piano keys can stick as the key slip (the wood below the keys swells or warps from the environment or repeated stress, on the Kawai uprights, there is a steel-reinforced plate which keeps this space clear and prevents sticking keys for the life of the piano.
